Privacy Policy

Last updated: 16 September 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how RTA Groundworks (“we”, “us”) handles your personal information when you use this website (https://rtagroundworks.com) or contact us for a quote. It is written in plain English so you know exactly what we do with your data and the rights you have.

1. Who we are

RTA Groundworks is a family-run groundworks business based in Kent, covering Kent and London. We are the controller responsible for the personal information you provide through this website.

  • Legal entity: RTA Groundworks Ltd
  • Company number: 17192713 (registered in England & Wales)
  • Registered office: 27 Lavender Avenue, Minster on Sea, Sheerness, Kent, ME12 3UA
  • Phone: 07833 926645
  • Email: info@rtagroundworks.com
  • Service area: Kent & London (Sittingbourne to the M25)

Our ICO registration number can be provided on request — please contact us using the details above.

2. What personal information we collect

We only collect the information you choose to give us when you ask for a quote or get in touch. Through our enquiry form we may collect:

  • • Your name
  • • Your phone number
  • • The service you are interested in
  • • Any project details you choose to include in your message

We do not ask for your address, date of birth, financial details, or any other information through this website. We do not create accounts and you do not need to register to use this site.

3. How we collect information

When you submit our enquiry form, it opens your own email client with the details pre-filled and sends your enquiry to our email inbox at info@rtagroundworks.com. This means the information travels directly from you to us via your own email provider — it is not entered into a database on this website.

You can also contact us by phone or by emailing us directly. We do not collect personal information about you automatically beyond what is described in this policy and our Cookie Policy.

4. Why we use your information and our lawful basis

We use the information you provide only to:

  • • Respond to your enquiry and provide a quote
  • • Discuss your groundwork project with you
  • • Arrange a site visit where relevant

Our lawful basis for processing your personal information for these purposes is legitimate interests under Article 6(1)(f) of the UK GDPR — specifically, our legitimate interest in responding to enquiries and taking steps to enter into a contract with you. We do not use your information for marketing.

5. How long we keep your information

We keep your enquiry details for as long as needed to respond to you and for a reasonable period afterwards (typically up to 12 months) so we can answer any follow-up questions or deal with any related query. After that we delete the information from our email inbox and any backups in the normal course. If you ask us to delete your details sooner, we will.

6. Who we share your information with

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information. We share it only as necessary to respond to your enquiry:

  • • Our email provider, which hosts the inbox where your enquiry is received and stored (a processor acting on our instructions).
  • • Our phone provider, where you contact us by phone.

We would only disclose your information if required to do so by law. We do not use any third parties to analyse your behaviour on this website.

7. Third-party services on this website

  • Google Fonts — used for the typeface on this site. Google Fonts is provided by Google LLC and, if you accept, loads font files from Google's servers. Google may receive your IP address in the process. Google Fonts only loads if you accept via our cookie banner; if you decline, your device uses built-in system fonts instead. See our Cookie Policy for details.
  • Image hosting — project images are served from the Base44 / Wix media platform. No personal information is sent to this service by you.

8. International transfers

Because Google Fonts is provided by Google LLC (a US company), accepting the cookie banner means font files are requested from servers that may be outside the UK. If you decline, no such request is made. Our email and phone providers are UK-based; if that ever changes, we will update this policy and only transfer your data with appropriate safeguards.

9. Your data protection rights

Under the UK GDPR you have the right to:

  • • Access the personal information we hold about you
  • • Ask us to rectify (correct) information that is inaccurate
  • • Ask us to erase your information
  • • Restrict or object to our processing of your information
  • • Receive a copy of your information in a portable format (data portability)
  • • Withdraw consent where we rely on it (for example, for Google Fonts)

To exercise any of these rights, email info@rtagroundworks.com or call 07833 926645. We will respond within one month.

10. Complaints and the ICO

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please contact us first and we will do our best to resolve it. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK's independent data protection regulator:

11. Automated decision-making

We do not use any automated decision-making or profiling on this website or with the information you provide.

12. Children

This website is a business website and is not intended for children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has sent us information, please contact us and we will delete it.

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated revision date.

14. Contact
